"Ours is a simple story," declared Rita Tua. "My husband and I moved to the country to enjoy our retirement and then we fell in love with wine, which we produced and which enjoyed success." Behind that "simple story," there is in reality the capacity to see far ahead in combination with a pinch of luck. The territory of Suvereto on the border between the Livorno and Grosseto segments of the Maremma has already demonstrated its suitability for cultivation of the international varieties Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Those were the varieties planted and used for the estate’s first wine, the Giusto di Notri. At the 1994 vintage, it was decided to keep separate some batches of Merlot matured in barriques that were of great interest. It was then decided to bottle the wine separately and the result was 600 bottles. The wine established a reputation during a tasting in which it was compared with other better-known versions. After that, the wine began to expand its circle of admirers. There were still few wines of the Maremma known to the public, although the precursor was issued without difficulty nearly 25 years ago.

The current production of Redigaffi, which is the name of a brook near the estate, is about 8,000 bottles a year.
